THE BACKSTORY
I grew up in the perfect southern home; you know. Daddy owned a big farm, mommy did nothing but cook and clean in the kitchen, all that shit. Even at a young age I knew that this was not the life for me. I hated the thought of being stuck in a kitchen all day while my husband went out and explored the world, making money for the family. I wasn't like that. I liked knowing that I could do things for myself, being independent and knowing that I didn't need a man to help me with anything. Well, let's just say that both mommy and daddy didn't like that, so they shipped me off to an all girls school in new york. Ha! That didn't last long. After getting in fight after fight with a lot of the girls, the school kicked me out and sent me back home. Well, let's just say that daddy wasn't very happy with me. Every day, for a year, he would whip me with a belt when he got home. I don't really remember how long he usually went for, sometimes it went for five minutes, sometimes it felt like hours. My mother wouldn't even talk to me. So, on my sixteenth birthday, I packed up and left; no note, not a word, I just took my guitar, held out my left thumb and headed out to go knows where. Eventually I made it to California, where I met the boys and the rest is really history.
