TEARS FOR FEARS → MAD WORLD

[/justify]K104: And in the studio tonight is the lovely Arron Vorhees, vocals for bitchin' band The Phantom Agony and Revolver's number three hottest chick in metal. Thanks for coming to hang out with us tonight, Arron.
ARRON: Glad to be here Special K. I grew up listening to K104 so it's awesome to finally be a part of it.
K104: Aren't you precious? Alright well, we got some questions for you tonight if you don't mind giving us some answers.
ARRON: Depends on the question.
K104: Haha alright. We'll try not to get too invasive on you then, just invasive enough.
ARRON: Haha.
K104: First question. Our viewers are curious to find out where the nickname Slasher comes from.
ARRON: Well...it started off with just my friends way back in the day simply based on my last name, Vorhees, which isn't spelled like the killer by the way. But since it's a Slasher film my friends got about calling me Slasher and it just kinda stuck with me.
K104: Way back in the day, huh? Was this before or after you formed up TPA?
ARRON: Believe it or not, Phantom started when I was only twelve years old, only then we were called Slasher and the Victims. It wasn't a very good name, I have to admit. But when I was fourteen years old we mutually decided to change up the name to Phantom Agony, which our guitarist actually thought up. So it was before, hence the original name of the band.
K104: Twelve years old? Wow. You've been working on this your whole life, huh?
ARRON: I've known since I was a little kid that this is what I was born to do. While the rest of the girls in my class were lip syncing to the Spice Girls in the talent show, I was singing Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" with a stupid bandanna tied around my head. I never really fit in and I always had to be the center of attention.
K104: Hah that's excellent. When did you first start touring with TPA?
ARRON: Well we did our first tour when I was fourteen, if you even want to call it that. It was more a couple small shows down the west coast for a local band that had a pretty decent rep. Sadly, they kinda disappeared and fizzled out. I think their vocalist is actually in Africa building houses right now or something.
K104: How metal.
ARRON: I know, right?
K104: You knew this one was coming. Shai Pomeroy?
ARRON: Was there a question in there somewhere?
K104: Come on, I think you know the question.
ARRON: He exists, last time I checked.
K104: Uh oh. I think we crossed the line.
ARRON: Haha, well Shai and I pretty much grew up together. I was born and raised in Seattle, but when my 'rents split my dad moved to Cali to pursue his own music career. It never took off, but he owns his own studio down there now. When he first moved to Cali he started dating Shai's mom, so whenever I went down to visit him I had to sit there listening to his stupid British ass trying to pronounce my name. We never got along and he always pulled on my braids.
K104: Sounds like young love.
ARRON: Sounds like a death wish. He thinks I forgot, but I never forget. I only hooked him up to be on this tour so I could run him over with my bus.
K104: Oh lord. I bet we have some pretty defensive fangirls calling in right now.
ARRON: I'll fight them all.
K104: No bloodshed in the studio please, these are new carpets.
ARRON: Alright alright.
K104: Alright enough about Shai. On your newest album, there's a song called Sanctity in Solitude that has some pretty dark tones. Do you want to tell us a bit about what was going through your mind when you wrote that?
ARRON: That is one song that will never be easy for me to play, and to be honest we had a bit of a brawl deciding if we should even include it on the album. It was never meant to be heard and I wrote it coming from an extremely dark place. I went through a phase where I felt like I couldn't do it anymore, I felt like I was surrounded by fake people who didn't really care about me. Believe it or not, it sucks having people smile at you all the time and press up against you telling you about how amazing you are when they really just want to rub elbows with someone higher up on the social ladder than they are. The song is about feeling the most love when you're completely alone, because if you're alone no one can hurt you in your personal sanctuary. It's actually a pretty bad song I don't know why people love it.
K104: Wow. You've got a twisted little mind. I would love to keep going, but we've gotta cut to commercial before we get our asses sued off. Alright listeners, tune in after the break for more words from Arron Vorhees.
