tay was the first of three to be born to tina and tanner holloway. she was a struggle to look after for the fresh couple, tay was constantly demanding things and learned that if she complained enough she would get her way at an early age. when the couple found out that tina was pregnant with sawyer they decided that tina would have to quit her job as a teacher to be able to look after two small children, they also changed their scenery so that the family would have their next child in orlando. they moved back to montreal however when tay was seven due to tina being homesick. it was there that tay grew up, she enjoyed the cold weather of the summer but resented the warm summers.

when tay was fifteen, her life changed for the worse. her father got cancer. her father was the closest person to taylor; he took her fishing, he took her to her first ice hockey match, he taught her to ice scate, he was a great father. it was then she realized she didn't have much time with her father as his cancer was aggressive, so she began to try and make him happy, and she was relieved to hear that he was a happy man on his death bed because of her. her fathers death was a massive blow to tay, however it wasn't as much for her mother who seemed to have just ignored the fact it had happened. naturally, this angered taylor, and she began to fall into hatred for her mother as she began to ignore her children to go off to live her life as though she had no worries. tay began to look after her brother and sister until the young girl had dropped out of high school at seventeen, then she just packed her bags and left home.

the first place she stayed was with her grandparents on her fathers side who lived in orlando. they supported her for a year as she tried to build her life from just what she had taken from home, but she managed to get back into education and get a job working at a cafe. soon enough her mother managed to get in contact with tay and demanded that she took certain classes, tay obeyed her mothers wishes as she wanted her mother to be pleased with her, and possibly realize that she had abandoned her children to fend for themselves. when she met her boyfriend and fellow band member in a physics 101 class she knew that she wanted to be up on stage like he dreamed of. that was when roaches in hollywood was formed, and she doesn't look back on her decision. her mother doesn't agree, she believes tay has ruined her life by running away and getting with her boyfriend, but tay wants to prove her wrong and be part of one of the biggest bands in the world.

002. her high school boyfriend asked her to marry him and she said yes. when she ran away she wanted to run off with him and elope however he said no, so tay ran off to orlando instead.
003. she doesn't have any fear with the use of drugs at all, in fact she smokes weed on a weekly basis. none of her band mates know however.
