Not only was she able to sit down and semi-relax for a couple of hours. On top of that, she was able to meet all the fans who made The Phantom Agony's sets amazing. Although many people saw her as being arrogant, in reality Catherine Von Ness was quite humble, and she was completely aware that without the fans, she and the band would still be playing in shitty bars in Seattle. And touring, being where they were now, was much more preferable.
Cat had always loved the tour lifestyle. Just being on the road was enough to make her happy. Being able to travel around North America, and then the entire world had made her one of the happiest people alive, as well as feeling like one of the luckiest. Who else got to do what they loved for a living, as well as getting paid to travel the world? Not very many people, that was for sure. And it made Catherine feel incredibly blessed. And when there were people thousands and thousands of miles away who said that her music had impacted them in some way, no matter how small, it was unreal. Globalization was very much a reality, especially when it came to music, and Cat loved being able to connect with her fans via webcam or just live chats. But being able to see them in person was definitely her favorite, which was why the signing tables were such a big deal to her.
"Hi," she said to a nervous looking girl who was holding what Cat assumed to be one of the band's many posters and wearing one of The Phantom Agony's t-shirts. The girl approached, but still said nothing, apparently in shock. Instead of laughing like she wanted to (because the thought of anyone finding her scary was a little ridiculous), Cat gave her a warm smile, her eyes never leaving her face. "What's your name?" "Tessa." Cat's smiled only increased in warmth as she beckoned for Tessa to come forward. She obeyed, putting the poster down in front of the raven-haired singer. "You know," Cat started, signing her autograph over her smirking face on the poster. "You're very pretty. Is this your first signing?" Looking up at her again, Cat saw her nod. "Well, that's exciting, isn't it?" Cat was trying her best not to come off as patronizing, but more being friendly. The girl seemed sweet, and Cat wanted her first signing to be memorable. Ignoring the fact she was holding up the line, Cat narrowed her eyes slightly as she thought about what could do it.
"Oh, I know! Why don't we take a photo?" Gesturing to the photographer who was lurking around somewhere, Cat brought him over, getting to her feet and coming to stand next to Tessa. "You ready?" she asked the girl, putting an arm around her shoulders. Despite the fact she must have been about ten years younger than Cat, the two of them were about the same height. Ignoring the fact she felt incredibly short, Cat gave a big grin, hoping Tessa was doing the same. When the photographer was done, Cat unwrapped her arm from around the girl. "There we go. That should go up on our website later today." Cat informed her warmly. As Tessa was about to leave, the now signed poster in her hand, Cat bit her lip. "Wait." when Tessa stopped Cat approached her, unwrapping one of the many fabric bracelets around her wrist. "Take this." Putting it in the girls hand, Cat was happy to see her grin. Returning it with one of her own, Cat let out a small laugh. "You have fun today, alright?" With that, she gave Tessa a last hug, and returned to her seat, ignoring the combination of annoyed and expectant glances sent her way by both her bandmates and the fans. Adjusting her skirt as she sat down, Cat couldn't stop smiling, knowing that she'd probably made that girl's day. "Okay, who's next?" she called, waiting for the next person to come forward. |

Being completely family-oriented, Jess knew she would feel a lot more homesick that she was if Danny and Cat were not on tour along side her. Maybe it was because she was the baby of the family, but she was really starting to miss her parents, and she really wasn't afraid to admit it. She loved her parents, they were pretty much like her best friends, the whole family was like that. Well, expect Danny who got the hell out of there when he was eighteen. However, after he had moved out their parents and him seemed to get along much better, probably because they knew that they didn't have to look after him anymore and he could do whatever the fuck he wanted. At first it had been kind of weird not seeing him around the house all of time, then she realized that eventually she was going to have to do the same, which she did about two years ago. At first she loved the independent life, but then she realized she had to do all of the chores herself, rather than having a parent do them for her. Still, she felt it was worth it to just have a place of her own that she didn't have to obey any rules in except for the ones that she made up herself.
Right now, though, being on tour was pretty much a free ride and Jess loved every second of it; she loved the fact that she got to go around the world with her brother, sister, best friends and boyfriend. It was dream come true and Jess had the fans to thank for it. She had always come across humble and grateful, because she genuinely was; she loved her fans and would do anything for them, if she could. This was why she loved the signing tables the most out of everything she did; well, that and performing. Writing was fun and o was recording, but they were both stressful; when everything was done and finished to the point where you could just relish in the success for a while, that was the best.
Looking at the time, she realized that she had a signing to get to in about a half hour, but she figured she could go early just to maybe catch a glimpse of which band was before her. She knew that it couldn't be any of her three favourite boys, because they were all doing a sound check or something along those lines. So, she decided to get up off her ass, get all ready and then get out of the bus. Lately Jess had been partying way too much and had started to slow down a bit, but that, by no means, meant stopping cold turkey. The night before had been a casual get together with the boys and had ended quite nicely, seeing as Jess didn't get exceedingly drunk. The boys from Disturb the Peace did, though. But what else was she supposed to expect?
As she neared the signing tables, she could see that it was, in fact, 'The phantom Agony's' signing that was going on. This meant that Jess was able to see her sister. Just as she was about to run over and tackle her, she realized that she was in the middle of having a special moment with a fan. Jess stopped in her tracks and watched with a smile on her face. As much as people speculated, Cat was just as grateful for her fans as Jess was, they both knew how important they were. Running a hand through her long, bright red hair, she pushed it over to one side and, as Cat aid good-bye to the fan, slowly walked up to the signing table. She could see the security guard glaring at her for a moment before he realized who she was and let her walk up behind her sister and put her hands on her shoulders. Leaning down at the same time, she whispered in her ear, "Seven days..." before giggling and standing up straight again, knowing that probably freaked her older sister out a little bit. [/style] |
