[bg=19200f][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true] So Blaire was a chicken, enough said. Sure she had jumped enthusiastically at the chance to be the lead singer of a band, but the excitement had diminished once she realized that she was taking a much loved figures place. What if they never gave her a chance, what if they hated her for taking a position they felt she really hadn’t earned, let alone struggled to get. Not to mention the natural fear of failing was creeping into the front of her mind. She had never actually been on a stage, no. A label had picked her up based on her ability to sing covers. As she thought about it, she was beginning to doubt herself too. What if she froze, what if she couldn’t hit the notes they wanted her too… how the hell was she going to learn all those songs so quickly? Blaire had sang, and covered a lot of artists song, but she hid behind a computer screen. Sure she seemed engaging, had a strong talent, but her skills had never actually been tested in front of anyone. The mere thought of getting on stage had her trembling. This was way more than she had bargained for, and she was beginning to think taking the offer had been a terrible idea.
Oh, did Blaire forget to mention.. she is a chicken. Blaire had arrived in town yesterday morning, and had spent the entire day hiding in her hotel room. She had taken at least two showers, changed about ten times, and had never actually gotten up the courage to head to the tour grounds, and meet the band she was going to be apart of. Instead she hid in her pjs, eating ice cream, and searching youtube for videos of Murder Mayhem. She had to admit, the girl’s shoes she was filling had been incredibly talented, and the closeness she had with the band, well it was like gorilla glue. How was Blaire suppose to move in on that, suppose to take that girls place. She had no doubt everyone would be watching her, and in Blaire’s mind they all wanted her to fail. Blaire swallowed hard as she looked at herself in the mirror one last time. She may have been able to hide from the band, but she couldn’t skip the meeting she had with the tour owner. Blaire new absolutely nothing about this man, all she knew was he was in charge of everything. She had the strong suspicion to that he partially controlled her fate. After all this was his tour, and if she failed to perform, she jeopardized Murder Mayhem’s chances of staying on it.
So with a heavy heart, and burdened conscious, she got her things together and headed out. Blaire hailed a cab, and handed the address to the driver. Blaire did her best not to bite her nails, or chew on her lip as the cabby drove. Blaire’s heart was beating out of control, and her eyes definitely held that scared deer in the head lights look. When the cab stopped she froze. Blaire closed her eyes and did her best to calm herself down. Everything was going to be fine, she was just meeting him. She didn’t have to be on stage for a couple days, all of this was going to be fine. Her mind racing with all those troubled thoughts at once, god give me peace she thought. Blaire had been smart enough to study Axel’s picture from a site she had found online. After all first impressions were everything right? Blaire exited the cab, paid the driver, and made her way into the coffee shop. When she arrived she asked one of the hostesses to point her in the direction of the man she was suppose to be meeting. When they did, Blaire took a deep breath before walking in that direction. When she reached the table, she smiled. Blaire extended her hand, and in the calmest, and most confident voice she could muster she said. “Hey, my names Blaire.”

trust in me, for i will set you free The duty of the tour owner was never finished and Axel had known that when he had first started up in this business. He knew that he was going to lose a lot of social graces and that he was going to need to sacrifice the normal way of life. Getting married? No way. Having children? Not a chance. Axel was prepared to live his life the rock and roll way until he died; it was tiring at some points, but over all he really enjoyed it. It numbed him and helped him forget about his horrible past, that no one on the tour, or any previous tours, know about. He had come close to telling one or two people, just because he needed to get it off his chest, but he always reeled it back in and kept it trapped within himself. He knew that no one would be able to look at him the same way and that was the last thing he ever wanted. This wasn't to say he never tried telling someone, he had. He told his ex-wife all about it and she rejected him, calling him fucked up and a murderer. Luckily, they didn't have any children together so, they could easily part ways - no muss and no fuss.
Today, though, he needed to concentrate on the task at hand, which was meeting up with the new vocalist for 'Murder Mayhem'. The old one had up and left without notice and it had put a major dent in the tour for a while. Luckily, they had found a replacement as quickly and efficiently as Axel could have hoped for and now all he had to do was meet the chick. Obviously he couldn't have just anyone on his tour; sure he had listened to her youtube stuff and found her to be pretty good, but it wasn't just the actual talent that he was looking for. The girl had to have a personality, a front that would sell both the band's records and his tour tickets. He didn't exactly care how the tickets were sold, he just wanted them to look desirable, and if she couldn't bring that to the table he would either tell her to leave and for the band to find a new singer, or for the whole band to be kicked out because they had been such a pain in the ass.
Sitting in one of his favourite restaurants, he waited for the girl to show up; he knew that she would be hard to miss, seeing as she had bright pink hair that seemed as though would stick out easily, like a sore thumb. Running a hand through his hair, he left out a heavy sigh, she had five minutes to show up or else she would be late and Axel would have made his decision. Looking at his watch, he counted down the time before he finally heard a strong, yet meek, voice greet him. Looking up, he smiled in a friendly manner and stood up, easily towering over the pink-hair girl, "I know who you are." he replied, his thick, German accent shining through before he continued, "I'm Axel, nice to meet you." he added before he shook her hand and thengestured towards her chair, "Please, sit. Sit." he added before he sat down himself, pulling the chair in a bit afterward, "How was your flight? I hope the first class seats were to your liking." he added before he took a sip of his wine.

[bg=19200f][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true] When the man stood up, Blaire did her best to keep the confident streak she had mustered going. She knew it was now or never, she had to make a first good impression. If this man had her back, dealing with her new band mates couldn't be that bad. She smiled bigger when he said he knew who she was. Blaire wasn't sure whether to be comforted by that thought, or belittled by it. She knew she had skill, but youtube fame didn't match up to what her fellow tour mate's were rocking. What if he thought less of her because of her meek career? Was he going to be one of the people who didn't think she would cut it, would he write her off before she even got a chance to shine? Blaire shoved the thoughts to the back of her mind, for the more she thought about them the more nervous she became. She could do this, she had too. This was the only shot she would ever get at something this big, a decent life, and the fame she had been chasing all those years. It was time for her to be original, to make her mark, and over shadow her predecessor.
"Its a privilege to meet you." she said warmly, and with a true sincerity she was sure this tour didn't have much of. After all a lot of bands that were on tour, were idles of hers. Succubus was by far the front runner. She had loved their music for a while, and had been very inspired by Harvey Havoc, the girl had honestly given her the courage to be herself when every fiber of her being had been terrified to be. Not to mention Disturb the Peace was on this tour, she couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to meet them. Last but certainly not least, she couldn't wait to hang out with A Tasteful Death. She had been one of those online bloggers that had gotten into heated debates with others about Stone's actions and their affect on A Tasteful Death. Needless to say she was relieved when the band kept the piece of shit. He may have been poor publicity, but damn that boy knew his way around a bass. Blaire snapped from her thoughts at the sound of his voice once more, and gladly took a seat. The pink haired woman hoped she wasn't seeming too air-headed, but all of this, well it was a lot to take in.
"I was a bit jet lagged yesterday, but I'm feeling much more acclimated today." she said warmly, her soft brown taking in his features. "And first class was very nice, thank you. It was awesome not to be surrounded by snoring men, and crying children." she said with a laugh, before brushing her pink bangs out of her face. Blaire wasn't quite sure how she should be acting at the moment, maybe it was best to just let her guard down, and be who she was. After all if he didn't like her, there was no reason to fake it, and eventually let her true colors show. "I'm just hoping everything goes smoothly.. I was super excited for this opportunity, but a little nervous about taking someones place. You always read online how badly these transitions go, and I just hope that is not the case." Blaire said with a slight frown. "I don't mean to sound like a high school girl, but I really hope they don't hate me." she said with a laugh. Blaire hoped she wasn't seeming weak, or unable to fill the shoes she had been given, because nothing was farther from the truth. She could do this and she was ready to prove it to Axel, and the rest of the tour.

trust in me, for i will set you free Axel knew that from an outsider's standpoint, someone who didn't know him very well, they would think he was in the mafia or something just from his sheer size and they was that he looked. However, that was far from the way he truly was, sure he had a temper, but he was usually very understanding and was fairly relaxed, considering what he was running. Still, he was impressed by how well the girl stood her ground and still shook his hand, that gave him confidence that this was probably an alright idea. He never really liked the fact that the band had chosen someone over youtube, but then again, that was probably where all of the producers were finding their talent these days. It was odd to think that it could be just that easy for someone; for them to post their videos and have some producer to just happen upon them and like them. It blew Axel's mind, seeing as it was so much harder than that when he had attempted to be in a band. Back then it was hard work and determination, handing out EPs to any producer that would give you a second glance. He remembered standing outside of one of their houses and waiting for them to walk out so he could hand it to them. Needless to say it didn't exactly work, but it was worth a shot. Axel was someone who was very determined and if he wanted something to work, by God he was going to give it everything he had to make it.
When Blaire sat down across from him, he looked at her and tried to picture her on stage. He could only imagine what her stage presence was like, and that was everything to Axel. He only hired bands that knew how to put on a good show and who had the talent that deserved to be on his tour. He had some huge bands on the tour that he had brought up not only ten years ago, it was privilege for a band to play on his tour, that was for damn sure. Axel took much pride in his work so he wasn't afraid to brag or be picky about things because he knew he could easily find a replacement if someone dropped out. Take 'Slasher and the Victims' for instance, they had dropped out so he got 'High Tendencies' the next day. Bands would kill to be on his tour because it was amazing publicity. He could only hope that Blaire knew what she was getting into by hooking up with Murder Mayhem and becoming their new lead singer.
Nodding at her words, he shrugged, "That should ware off in a day or two." he explained and nodded. Chuckling at the truthfulness of coach, he nodded, "I should suspect so. You had better taken advantage of it because now you are probably going to surrounded by snoring men every night, considering most of your band mates are men." he explained before he smirked and took another sip of wine, "Would you like something to drink?" he asked, gesturing towards his wine glass. When he admitted her fears to him, he could tell she wasn't nearly as confident as he thought she was, and he could sympathize with that. Afterall, she was right. Not many frontmen transitions turn out well, especially for the person taking the last person's place, "Yes, that's what I'm afraid of, too." he explained before the waiter came over and asked Blaire what she would like to start off with, "You can get anything you like, I'm buying."

[bg=19200f][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true] Blaire did her best to keep herself calm, cool, and collected. The man she was currently sitting with could make her, or break her. The mere thought was enough to make a cool chill run up her spine. Blaire didn't let her eyes linger on him long before she looked around a little. Blaire had always been nervous about holding eye contact with men, mostly because every male figure in her life had punished her for it at some point. Her dad could be a mean drunk when he wanted to be, and he had always hated it when his kids looked at him. As a child Blaire was brought up to believe it was a play for dominance. However as an adult Blaire believed it was because he didn't want his kids to see the monster booze had made him become. Growing up in a home with a man who hated himself so much for his addictions, and then to loose him to them, Blaire avoided drugs and alcohol like it was a god damn plague. "I think I'll be fine, I was raised with brothers. I learned a long time ago to bring ear plugs to every camping trip." she said with a smile as her eyes met his once more.
Blaire bit her lip nervously when he asked her if she wanted a drink. Blaire didn't want to seem too straight edgy, but at the same time she had made a pact with herself a long time ago to not give in. "No thank you." she said politely, hoping her refusal wouldn't upset him. Blaire seemed to walk on egg shells around men, and she hoped Axel wasn't picking up on that. She carried herself in a very submissive manner around them, quiet, respectful, and mildly withdrawn. However if you put her in a room full of girls you got a happy, energetic woman who wasn't afraid to scrap either. "Trust me, I don't want to let anyone down, I will give it my heart and soul. Give it my all you might say, because honestly I don't want to be that talented girl behind a computer screen anymore. I want to create my own music, perform, and sing my heart out every damn day." she said her tone becoming more confident than it had been .
When the waiter came over she offered him a friendly smile. "Can I get a glass of water, no lemon." she said in a friendly tone. "Thanks." she said before returning her attention to Axel. "So if you don't mind me prying, what exactly happened to the last singer?" she said her brown eyes looking at him crossly. Blaire had read numerous rumors online, but none of them seemed very accurate. The girl was incredibly interested in facts, and if she was replacing a icon as far as female vocals went, she wanted to know how big of stilettos she was filling.

trust in me, for i will set you free With the tour getting more and more publicity, Axel was finding it easier to find bands that wanted to play or take the place of any that dropped out. Take 'Slasher & the Victims' for instance. He easily found a substitute and, honestly, he preferred them over the last band. As much as he enjoyed the eccentric look that Aaron had, he wasn't exactly the biggest fan of how young she was when she had such a look. He had both a little niece and daughter figure that he looked after and he did not want either of them to dress that way. It also frightened him that Carson was getting older, she was turning eighteen and that really made him feel old. He could remember when she just reached his hip and he could easily pick her up and throw her onto the couch as they play wrestled. It sucked but he knew that the girl had a lot of people to watch over her so she would be fine in life. Besides, her father was more than an outstanding guy and it was only because of him that Carson's dreams came true. Axel would have let her in on the tour in a heart beat, but he had been afraid that her mother wouldn't let her. It was only because Malachi took her to America and away from her mother that Carson got to live her dream and Axel respected the man immensely because of that.
Hearing the girl's confidence build as she spoke of how she wanted to do the best she could and be everything she dreamed of, Axel nodded in approval. He had felt like that once so he could relate to her; she seemed as though she was going to try her damnedest to do it right and be the best that the band could have, "Are you prepared to take the flack that's headed your way?" he asked, taking another sip of his wine before he put it down and looked at her with a raised brow, "Because you know there are people who still believe that Faye was their one and only." he explained, his tone completely serious. He didn't exactly know where this girl stood when it came down to such a thing, but she seemed to realize that a lot of replaced front men don't make it about eighty five percent of the time. When the waitress came by and Blaire ordered a water, Axel looked at the waitress and nodded at her before she walked away.
The question slightly shocked Axel, why had the girl left? He had honestly thought everything was fine between those band members, but apparently he was wrong. Looking at her dead in the eyes, he shrugged softly, "I really couldn't tell you. Her leaving had been a shock to everyone, I think." he stated and nodded, "It may had have something to do with her and the bassist but I really couldn't tell you." he explained before the waitress came back with her water, "We'll just be another minute." he explained before he smiled at her and turned back to Blaire, "Are you hungry?"
