The sound check was taking longer than she hadexpected and it was finally her turn to have the vocals leveled and such. They were playing a new song that they had just finished and perfected and, in all honesty, she was more than excited to see the reaction of the crowd when she announced it. It had been over two years since 'Welcome the Silent Force' had put out a new album and, only now had they started writing. The two years had been put to good use though, going all around on several different tours - she finally got to cross off 'going to Europe' off her list. She didn't really think that they would do very well in Europe but, it was much better than she expected and there were just as much fo a crowd there as there was in North America. It was a dream coming true - sometimes she still couldn't believe it. At times, she just expected herself to wake up and be back at home, as if none of her experinces happened and they were all a big, fantastic and realistic dream. Of course, Jess never wanted to wake up, if that were the case.
Listening to the song come together live, it sounded just as amazing and epic as she had heard it in her head. It gave her a sense of overwhelming accomplishment, though almost all of the songs that she helped write and compose made her feel that way. There was also that odd feeling of power whenever she said one little thing and the crowd just shouted out in praise. Of course there was also the praise she got afterward the hsow as well, having girls come up to her and tell her that they idolized her and loved her voice. Jess being the way she was, she just gave a simple thank you and tried to change the conversation to a different subject. She didn't really like being praised, it made her feel awkward, if only because she wasn't used to it. When she was in University, she would get some praise, sure, but then they would turn it around and tell her she was terrible for putting classical music with metal. It was kind of funny when she thought of it now, seeing as she was now touring the world by putting classical music and metal together.
When it was time to do soundcheck at the breakdown, where Jess was at the piano and singing at the same time, she walked over to the keyboard and placed her fingers on the keys, completely lost in the moment as she sang out. She knew it was only a sound check, but she couldn't help falling into the sound of the music. Closing her eyes, she tried to block out any other noises, other than her piano and voice, and she achieved it with ease. Even though there were people chatting and shouting, trying to communicate with the sound techs to make sure everything was level. By the time the part was done, she opened her eyes and let out a sigh, almost ashamed that she had got lost in the music again. It happened more often than not and some people found her odd for being so into the music, even when she was just playing piano for fun and goofing around and singing for karaoke. It was embarassing, sometimes. As she finished, she realised just how late she was for a certain meeting she was supposed to have, but she couldn't just get up and leave, there was still one more song she needed to sound check for, after the drums, guitars and bass of course, "Shit..." she murmured to herself, she hated being late, especially when it came to spending time with her boyfriend. hurray for charlie for writing such a terrible piece of craaap |

In honesty, Thad wasn’t sure why he had agreed to such a game, but he hadn’t anything better to do whilst he waited for his girlfriend to show up. Now that they had played and Bronx flashed his two winning cards, however, he realized that he’d gotten much more into the game than he had originally thought he would’ve. “Damnit.” He added, after seeing that his band mate had, in fact, beat him in such an easy card game. “You need to remind me never to play this with you. I just can’t figure out how you win every time.” With that he shrugged, tossing the cards he had in his hand towards the other man’s side of the table.
For a brief moment of both ignoring Bronx’s cocky remarks and casually picking at a loose string he’d just noticed on his shirt, he was mildly entertained. It only took that short minute though, before he’d remembered that Jess was supposed to be dropping over after her sound check, so that the two of them could go out on a date. Grabbing his phone off of the only small table that the bus had, he checked the time and furrowed his eyebrows a little bit. The redheaded ball of energy he called his girlfriend was late, which was slightly odd since she usually wasn’t. Considering Bronx had somewhere else to be by then, Thad wandered away from the bus towards the venue stages that had already been set up for the shows that evening. There were a fair number of them set up and due to conflicting set times, they were all relatively far apart. Since Thad had been too busy ravishing Jessie’s skin for the last few minutes of time he had left, he hadn’t heard the name of the stage she’d said she’d be at, but fortunately, it didn’t take very long to find them.
As soon as he’d found them, he made himself at home and joined the crew on side stage, so as not to interrupt. Looking on from the vantage point he’d picked gave him a good view of Jessie, but not so much of anyone else – which he was perfectly fine with. He did like the music the band created as a whole, but he much preferred focusing on the redhead in the middle. By the time the last note faded into silence, Thad was wearing one of the biggest grins and walking towards the singer in the center of the stage. “Perfect!” He said as he made his way over, stopping short approximately a foot or two away. “You’re gonna sound great tonight, Red.” It didn’t even occur to him that he could easily be interrupting them when they weren’t finished with their sound check. After all, there wasn’t much that would keep him from speaking to his girlfriend when he wanted to.
Still oblivious to whatever he may be interrupting, he lifted his hands and started casually plunking away at the keyboard that she’d just been playing not even a moment ago. “Did you ever think about going professional with your talents?” He teased lightly, grinning again as he playfully bumped elbows with her. After pissing around with a few more random notes on the keyboard, he reached for her hand: preparing to pull her away from the sound check. “Are you ready to go, or what?” He asked, having not acknowledged her band mates even once during all this. “I haven’t eaten yet. You know how pissy I get when I don’t eat.” He added, a small smirk still lingering on his features as he spoke, even though he was half serious.

At times is was nerve wracking because, seeing as she would have just woken up and hadn't be able to let her voice warm up, she tended to mess up a lot more. Jess hated that; she found it embarassing and, with everyone concentrating on how she sounded she sort of wanted to crawl into a hole and stay there for the rest of the tour. Sure it was a little dramatic, but she couldn't help it. Ever since she flunked in music school, she was very fragile about her music. Of course, there were times where she felt completely empowered by what she had written and had full confidence in it, like when she was on stage and people were singing her lyrics with her. God, there was no other feeling that could match up to that, except maybe love. Though, the two were very close tied. They were two very different things as well, so they were hard to compare, if not totally impossible. One was caused by something a person had done themself, something they had created and helped bloom and grow, the other was caused by another person, showing them affection and care that caused them to get the feeling of being wanted and cared about.
Just as she started to think about love, the love of her life seemed to show up just on time. It was hard for her to keep the smile off her face, so she didn't even try to hide it. She knew that she was late and that she felt terrible about it, she was still more than happy to see him in the same room as her. Hearing his encouraging words only caused the smile to grow, her eyes locked on him as he walked towards her, "Thanks, love." she replied before she watched him start to plunk down on a couple of the keys on the piano, "This is out first time playing it live, so I'm kind of nervous about it." she explained before she shrugged, "But I think it sounds pretty much ready for our fans to hear it." she added, watching his hands play with the keys a bit more. A laugh escaped her lips when he teased her, "No, I hadn't actually." she teased before she laughed softly and looked towards the rest of her band mates, who were huddled over on the side of the stage as the sound techs finished up the last things from the last song. Honestly, all she wanted to do was get out here and spend the day with Thadm like she had planned, but she couldn't just up and leave the band during a sound check.
It was becoming more obvious that her life was going ot be split between her band and Thad, the two of them just didn't seem to mesh together and, in all honesty, it scared her. They were her two loves and she didn't think she would ever be able to choose between the two of them. It almost seemed, to her, that Thad didn't even try to get along with her band mates and that pissed Jess off some. He could at least try to like the peopel she liked to call her second family. So, when he asked if she was ready to go, she looked back at him and bit on her lower lip in nervousness, "We're not quite done yet, just one more song and then we should be good to go." she stated, smiling softly at his next words, "I know babe, I'm sorry. I didn't know it would take this long." she added, placing a hand on his forearm before she ran it down the length of it's entirety, "I know you do. You can go grab something to eat real fast? Tell me where you are and I'll meet you?" she asked, looking up at him with sorry eyes. She was tempted to ask if she could leave, seeing as all of the other levels seemed to be good and they could easily fix it when the show went on, right? hurray for charlie for writing such a terrible piece of craaap |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] I D O N ' T W A N N A D O I T A L O N E | [atrb=width,240] As Thad’s fingers rested on the keys of the piano, his random plunking eventually morphed into a very simple, but still random tune. He wasn’t what anyone would call a pianist by any means, but he could still manage to play simple tunes on the piano – solely because of how beneficial it was when the band was writing songs and he was trying to explain what his ideas were. It was enjoyable during the few times he even went near a piano or keyboard, but to be honest, Thad couldn’t see himself spending any more time playing it than he already did. He was always impressed though, with the music that people could create with the instrument in question. His band had made some impressive tracks with it, as had Jessie’s band. If anything, Welcome the Silent Force’s piano was even better, since the female voice complimented it so easily.
The whole while that Jess explained that the song he’d just heard was so new, Thad continued playing that simple beat; making sure to keep it quiet enough so as to hear the words she was saying. At the same time, he lifted his head to look at her, no longer bothering to keep his eyes on the keys. “Well, I think it sounded awesome.” He replied with a nod. “How new is it? When’d you write it?” He questioned next, curious about how long it’d taken them to perfect it as much as it had sounded only a couple minutes ago. When it came to his own band and the music they wrote, Thad was definitely a perfectionist. He’s always one of the last ones redoing his part on a track for the umpteenth time and in fact, sometimes, it’s not until they play it live for the first time and witnesses the crowd’s reaction that he’s actually satisfied with his vocals. It was a little bit strange for some people to see for themselves, considering Thad was so incredibly laidback and had only taken few things seriously over the course of his life, but he’d never once considered slacking off when it came to the music.
It wasn’t until Jessie explained that the sound check wasn’t even finished that Thad pulled his hands off the keys. He repressed any other reaction though, seeing as not only did he know how anal he was about making songs sound good on albums and in live performances, but he also knew just how important the sound check is. The worst possible thing during a show was, obviously, not sounding good; so it was crucial to make sure everything was in working order. On the other hand, though… Thad was hungry. “Okay, well…” he stopped, somewhat surprised by the sudden sensation of her hand running down the length of his arm. It was enjoyable sure, but surprising nonetheless, considering they only rarely did affectionate things in public. “Well, no. I’m not going to just take off.” He continued, instinctively grabbing her hand in response to her act of affection. With a quick glance around to make sure nobody was looking at them, he gently caressed her jaw line with his thumb, taking as much time as he dared before he dropped his hand again. As much as he didn’t care for it, he knew how fond Jessie was of the public display – so he could at least give her something. “It’s all good, Red. I’ll just wait.”
If only to hurry the last little bit of the sound check along, he let go of her hand and ever so gently pushed her in the general direction of where her band mates were standing. “Hurry though, woman. My stomach’s entertaining the idea of eating itself.” He gave her another grin then, before retreating to a different part of the stage in order to let her get on with the last song.
Despite the shit he was giving her, he hoped she knew that he was, in fact, teasing her. After all, he just so happened to be the front man of his own band and as previously mentioned, he knew how important the sound check was. Beyond that even, he liked Jessie’s voice and liked watching her perform with all of the other instruments to back her. He didn’t like it any less, but it definitely didn’t sound near as dramatic when she sang to him in bed, just before he fell asleep.

That was when most of her best pieces were written, when she was alone and able to think abut nothing else but what she was feeling and how she could convey it into a masterpiece. Of course, she would break focus every once in a while to give someone a quick text, telling them that she was busy for the day or to eat and go to the bathroom, but other than that, there wss no contact to the outside world. Sometimes it got so intense that she even would forget to text Thad back once or twice, leaving her phone with a few simple questions asking if she was alright or what she was doing. Those text honestly meant a lot to Jess because it meant that he cared and that he got worried when she didn't text him back throughout an elotted time. This, in way, meant that Thad was needy, he was the complete opposite, in fact, he just liked knowing what she was doing, or so she hoped. Jess, on the other hand, could get a tad bit needy, getting somewhat anxious when he didn't text or call her back right away. She would always think of what he was doing, where he was and who he was with. Though she knew Thad would never cheat on her, he was still a famous rock star, having access to any woman he wanted.
Those misleading thoughts always disappeared the second she would see him in person; it was only that one look from Thad and she knew that he was hers just as much as she was his. She knew that the whole 'commitment' thing was new to him, but it honestly seemed like he had done it before; sure he still acted like a bachelor, just without the multiple amount of women in his bed, and Jess was fine with that. He was still young and so was she, so why should they be slowing down with their drinking? Especially since the two of them were rockstars on a tour with other rockstars. There was no way that they could avoid the sex, drugs and rock n' roll aura that surrounded them every days and only increased when the sun went down.
Watching Thad play around on her keyboard, she smiled softly and trailed her gaze down to the hands themselves. The look of his hands on the piano was a good one and Jess wished she could see it more often, if only because she knew that Thad would be able to do great things with the instrument. Hearing his compliment, she smiled brightly and blushed, lifting her head to look at him. He still managed to do that sort of thing to her, make her feel completely and utterly special by just saying the smallest thing. Though, with that also meant that he could crusher her completely in the same manner, "Thank you." she replied before she furrowed her eyebrows in thought to reply to his next question, "Not too long ago. Bits of the arrangement I wrote a couple years back, actually. I just didn't know where to use them in any of our older stuff, so I kept them locked away for a rainy day." she explained and shrugged, "But we only finished writing the song about two weeks ago." she replied and nodded softly, hoping to answer his question well enough.
The guilt in her stomach started to grow as he spoke of how hungry he was; Jess knew how Thad got when he got hungry. He was almost like a baby, getting cranky and irritable when his stomach wasn't full; it was cute at times, but at others it got somewhat annoying. Trying to calm him, she placed her hand on his forearm, knowing she was doing something that just was not something that they normally did. She didn't expect any reciprocation, but was surprised at the feel of Thad's thumb on her jawline, stroking it softly as she leaned into it and smiled, "Only if you're sure?" she stated, her voice showing seriousness as he dropped his hand and Jess did the same. When he pushed her in the general direction of her band mates, she turned her head and stuck her tongue out at him, showing that she knew that he was teasing. They had been together long wnough that she didn't take much of Thad's personality seriously, except for when it came down to his music and his history.
When the band regrouped and decided on their latest song for the soundcheck, she walked back to the piano and started to play the keys that seemed all too familar with her now. That was when she realized that Thad was going to be watching her and her nerves perked up a bit. When her and Thad first started dating, she couldn't play if she knew that he was watching, scared that she was going to mess up and embarass herself in front of him. However, after they had a talk about it and Thad assured her that she would be perfect no matter what she did, she had an easier time playing. Now, it still got her nervous, but she could easily play and mess up without getting too upset over it.Inf act, as she played, she turned to look at him every once in a while, smiling at him before the song was over. As she played the last chord, she looked up at the sound check guy, seeing him give a 'thumbs up' before she turned to Thad and started to walk in his direction, he own stomach now growling at her to feed it, "Ready to go, babe?" son of a bitch ran away on me |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g79/Juliart/background_black.jpg');,true][cs=2] I D O N ' T W A N N A D O I T A L O N E | [atrb=width,240] Before he knew Jess, Thaddeus hadn’t even thought that committing to any one broad was in the cards for him. Sure, he’d tried out the one-woman man persona back when, but it simply didn’t work for him. He’d enjoyed having different women in his bed when he desired one to be there, and having his own space when he didn’t. He wasn’t a lonely, scared little boy hiding behind his over-exaggerated sexuality, as someone had told him once. He had genuinely liked getting a taste of many, rather than being haunted by the thought of dying with only one. Not only that, but he liked going to strip clubs with the guys, getting hammered, and partying into the small hours of the morning. Back then; he’d been convinced that no woman in search of commitment would want a guy like that. Thus, in all ways, he was better off living alone. After all, it wasn’t like he couldn’t get a girl by the snap of his fingers if he wanted one.
For whatever reason, the redhead that he now called his girlfriend had somehow managed to make him commit. It didn’t take long for him to realize that the feeling he got on the nights he spent without her was what they called loneliness. Eventually, she showed him what it was like to love. She had him wrapped around her finger, but the best part of it was, she never took advantage of that. Thaddeus was still Thaddeus. He still does everything he did before – drinking, partying, strip clubs, the whole nine. Only now, he keeps his hands off and his dick out. At this point, she could easily convince him to change every last one of his ways, but he knew she’d never ask him to do that. In itself, that’s part of the beauty of their relationship. The unwritten agreement that they can both go out and do as they please, as long as it’s each other that they crawl in bed with at the end of the day.
While Thad listened to Jessie explain a few of the finer details of their new song, he nodded along and ultimately let out a soft noise of recognition. He knew what it was like to write a piece of music or a set of lyrics that he couldn’t seem to figure out the other part for. “Well, it worked out pretty great, if you ask me.” He replied, quite honestly. “Had you tried to force the lyrics, it wouldn’t have been that powerful.” He elaborated. With that, he went quiet and the topic of conversation switched over to the fact that they couldn’t yet leave for lunch. He simply nodded his agreement before he used gentle force to coax her off towards her band mates.
Once she’d gone off to speak to them before playing the last song, Thad retreated back to where he’d been standing before. He certainly didn’t want to mess anything up, considering they could easily decide to re-do the whole thing. And, as stated before, he liked hearing Jessie sing with the full band. He wanted to receive the full effect of the song and let it consume him for the minutes that it lasted for. So, he did just that. Leaning against the first solid object he found that still provided him with a view of the stage, he absorbed himself in the instrumentals paired with Jessie’s vocals, allowing the music to play with his emotions to match the mood of the song. It was only when the music faded into silence that he realized he’d closed his eyes.
Looking at Jessie, he appeared to be dazed for a couple seconds, coming down from the natural high of the song. He took in a deep breath before reaching for her hand, grinning wildly at her. “I love hearing you sing.” He said, knowing that he wouldn’t have felt that song quite as deeply had it not been Jessie’s voice. Thad lingered there, looking down at her and tangling their fingers together for a couple more seconds. Although it didn’t happen as often as it had when they first met, there were still times that he simply couldn’t get over how talented she was.
Shaking his head lightly, he returned to him self and nodded. “Of course. Hunger. Food. Right.” He said haltingly, before he turned and started tugging her away from the stage. It wasn’t like letting himself get so into one of her band’s songs embarrassed him, but it was still a strange sensation when reality comes back to you after something like that. “What do you feel like eating?” he added, gently squeezing her hand as they walked down the stage stairs and headed off through the venue.
